How do I get to Lake Creek Ranch?
Lake Creek Ranch is located approximately 70 mi. from Amarillo, just off Highway 287. Several major airlines service Amarillo, Texas. Should you fly into Amarillo, you will be picked up by one of our staff and driven the approximately one hour to the ranch.
Will my hunt be guided?
All hunts at Lake Creek Ranch are guided one-on-one.
What should I wear?
Fall weather in the Texas Panhandle is very unpredictable. Layered clothing is recommended so you are prepared for any weather condition. Camo is not necessary, but while hunting it is best to stay away from light, solid color shirts, jackets or Levis.
Who will do my taxidermy work?
There are several good taxidermists in nearby towns, any of whom would be happy to complete work you request. If you choose to ship your trophy home or send it to a taxidermist, a fee will be charged for preparing, packing and shipping it.
Would my Spouse or non-hunting companion enjoy joining me on my hunt?
Absolutely. The accommodations at Lake Creek Ranch are very comfortable, even for the most genteel. Private bedrooms and baths make a stay at Lake Creek as secluded as you wish. Day trips can be arranged to visit local antique shops, historic sites or Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in the United States.
What gun should I use?
Any caliber from a 243 Winchester through a 300 Winchester Mag. will work. Most recommended would be 270 or 30-06. If you do not wish to bring or do not have your own gun, firearms can be arranged at the ranch. 20 Ga. shot guns for bird hunts are recommended, but any gauge is acceptable.
